Loving the World
Why have a strategy for Global Outreach?
Why would Christ Church serve globally beyond her local community? It would be imprudent at best and compassionless at worst for citizens of the wealthiest nation in recorded human history to not be oriented globally. Technology has ushered in an age of globalization and we are now forever economically, ecologically, and culturally connected to most everyone—we are global citizens. And the church should play a significant role in helping American citizens go global. But what does this actually look like? How do we go? Or better stated: How is the church sent into the world?

What is the Global Outreach Mission Statement?
We partner with (1) members of Christ Church that are engaged in strategic global initiatives, (2) new church developments and indigenous churches in global cities and (3) university ministries in global cities.
Who are our Global Outreach Partners?
Erin (Central Asia)
Erin has been serving in Central Asia since September 2009. Working with
Operation Mobilization, she seeks to share the Gospel of Jesus by reaching out in peace-making service and loving friendship to those in her host country. She spends her time learning the language and culture and in working for the organization by assisting several other worker families. She is involved at a local fellowship and assists with Sunday school classes monthly.
Ryan and Lora (Central Asia)
Ryan and Lora are serving the Azeri people in Central Asia with
Youth with a Mission and
Millennium Relief and Development Services. They seek to share the Gospel with the Azeri community. Lora is an English language teacher in a local school and Ryan is actively exploring additional needs in the community where they can serve.
Ryan and Karin (East Asia)
Ryan and Karin are serving in East Asia with
EFCA ReachGlobal that works to multiply healthy churches among all people. They will be doing ministry training for the local church and its leaders and ministering to people through community health and develop projects.

Why the East Bay?
Why would the Christ Church pastors choose the East Bay for their church home? Why start a church in Berkeley and Oakland?
