Holy Week and Easter at Christ Church

Invite your friends to Holy Week & Easter at Christ Church

People love to mark time with particular rituals and celebrations at work, on sports fields, and in the academy. In the Christian Church, no time is more significant than that of Holy Week.

The seven days leading up to Easter begin with Palm Sunday and culminate in a three-day observance of Jesus' death and resurrection. At Christ Church, we have different services and special gatherings during these days to more fully engage us in the story that shapes and defines our lives.

Along the way, prayerfully consider your financial gifts for our special offerings, and invite a family member, friend, neighbor, or coworker to join you at one of our services. Easter is the season when many people have a heightened curiosity and spiritual wonder around Christ and Christianity. Take the risk and bring them along with you!

Give to Support Mercy and Justice

Christ Church exists to help people meet God, grow in relationship with Him and each other, and seek the flourishing of the East Bay. The Easter Sunday offering - both cash and checks with a memo “Easter Offering” - will be divided between these organizations that offer mercy to those those in need:

1951 Coffee Company

1951 Coffee is a non-profit specialty coffee organization seeking to promote the well-being of the refugee community in the Bay Area by providing job training and employment to refugees and asylees while educating the surrounding community about refugee life and issues.

Oakland Leadership Center (OLC)

OLC provides mentoring and leadership development for young adults in East Oakland through various programs and opportunities.

Christ Church Deacons’ Fund

The Deacons’ Fund provides one-time emergency financial assistance to individuals and families in our church and community.

Pastor Bart Garrett opens his home to create a safe space for demystifying Christianity and the questions you’ve always wanted to ask, but never knew where to ask them. Bring your baggage, and let’s unpack it together over beverages and in community. Feel free to join in the conversation or simply listen. To RSVP, please click here. Come out to one or both dates!
