Easter Vigil
Saturday, March 30, 2013 - 8pm
At this evening candlelight service, we will hear scripture readings that record the history of Redemption from Genesis to the Gospels. Then, as was the practice of the early church, we will celebrate the sacrament of Holy baptism and share in Holy Communion. No childcare will be provided.

Thank you for considering a gift to Christ Church. Your contribution will help us build our community, love our neighbors, and work for peace and justice within the East Bay—in this we are striving to do our part in helping to create a better Bay Area that will invariably bless the world through its resources, skills, and passions.
Just as importantly, we strongly believe that the regular, spiritual practice of giving is the single greatest way that you can divest your money of its power over--a power that attempts to form and shape our identity, whether it be through a false sense of status (“I have more”) or security (“I need more”). God is a generous giver - “Our Lord Jesus Christ, though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that through his poverty you might become rich” (2 Cor 8:9) - and becoming a generous giver is the consistent reminder of his grace in our life, a recollection that prompts gratitude toward him and generosity towards others. With giving, everyone starts somewhere! Wherever you start, begin with the first fruits. Don't give God your leftovers. Say before God, "I am going to start giving 1% or 2% or 10% of my gross income, and see what happens." Most people are surprised at how "starting somewhere" enables them to give much more than they ever thought possible over time. Try your best to give weekly or monthly. Make it a regular rhythm of your worship.
There are several ways that you can contribute financially to Christ Church.
-
Place your cash or check in the offering on Sundays
-
Mail your check to the church office. (2138 Cedar Street, Berkeley, CA 94709)
-
Set up automatic bill pay through your bank. Your bank will send Christ Church a check according to the amount and frequency of your choosing. Some companies participate in an employer-match program where they will match your contributions to the charity of your choice, so be sure to ask your employer.
-
Donate online using your credit card with PayPal. Because we pay a fee on every credit card transaction, we humbly and respectfully ask those who give regularly to Christ Church to consider giving via check or automatic draft.
