Mission Trip to Tokyo, Japan

From June 19 to 27, 2017, an eight-member team from Christ Church will visit Grace Harbor Church, a bilingual church in the Tokyo waterfront area. Christ Church partners with this important church plant through prayer and its global outreach budgetary support of the Pfeil and Schaffer families at the church.

This will be the first mission trip sent out from Christ Church, and as such it is a vision trip that will help us pave the way for other trips in the future. The primary vision for this trip is to encourage Grace Harbor Church in its mission to spread the good news of Jesus to people in the Tokyo waterfront area.

How to Support the Trip

  1. Pray for the team, using the suggestions below. Those going: Lina Aoyama, Brent Batas, Christi Foist, Bart and Clair Garrett, Jeff Ho, Eula Lee and Ruben Quinones.
  2. Contribute to the online fundraiser part of the team is doing together.
  3. Long-term: Join the global outreach team that provides long-term support to the leaders of Grace Harbor Church

  • Tuesday, June 27: For the morning meeting with Seima and God's presence as the team sets out for various destinations (some to return home, others for further travel).

Goals of the Trip

  1. To support the efforts of Grace Harbor Church to connect with local college students.
  2. To provide an opportunity for Christ Church members to witness God’s work in Japan and grow deeper in understanding of God’s immeasurable grace and love for His people.
  3. To increase the capacity of Christ Church to pray for missionaries around the world.
  4. To strengthen the long-term relationship between Grace Harbor Church and Christ Church East Bay.
