Elected Leaders
Do you want to keep up with what we are doing to train our elders and deacons?
Jesus said, “I did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give my life as a ransom for many.” (Mk 10:45)
The Biblical model of leadership is probably best characterized in the phrase "servant leader." Elders and deacons are elected by the church to model servant leadership to the congregation. Christ Church is still a "mission church," which means that the church is led by pastors, Parish leaders, Community Group leaders, Ministry Team leaders, and others. We are making plans to become an "organized church" by Sunday December 16, 2012, which means that we will train and ordain elders and deacons to come alonside these leaders and shoulder the responsibilities of oversight, care, and "equipping God's people for works of service" (Eph 4).
