Event Description: You are invited to six months of theological training. We hope this is an opportunity to: 1) Give you quality theological and spiritual formation in a community context. 2) Help you discern your gifts, passions, and calling in the mission of Christ Church. 3) Ultimately appoint and ordain a handful of deacons and elders. We want to open this theological training as wide as possible for the first six months. Thus, we are inviting as many people in our congregation to participate, including our current leaders of Parishes, Community Groups, and Ministry Teams. What is the timeline? From January-June participants will prayerfully be discerning their call, which might involve the call to deacon, elder, or some other opportunity for service at Christ Church. From July-August we will take a summer break with a reading and writing project. From September-November, our appointed candidates will resume training together as a smaller group and begin focusing more on their roles and responsibilities as elders and deacons. December 2012 we will have a special worship service to ordain our deacons and elders and officially organize our church. Weekly meetings will be Mondays 7:00-9:30pm. We will begin with evening prayer and food; first Mondays are off. For those with childcare needs, we will work with you on a case by case basis to help you participate if you are feeling called by God. Please RSVP on the online community network.
