Serve at Christ Church

There are many ways to help at Christ Church—we can use your gifts! We always need more people to help welcome newcomers, prepare us for worship, pray, and play with the kids. Most teams rotate volunteers over several weeks to balance the load and prevent burnout.

  • CCKids Team

Volunteers help once a month to lead our kids into a deeper relationship with Christ and the church through worship, community and outreach.

  • CCYouth Team

Mentors engage our youth and their faith through life-on-life discipleship.

  • Hospitality Team

The Hospitality Team prepares refreshments for coffee hour, allowing new and long-time Christ Churchers to connect, find encouragement, and start new friendships.

  • Boiler Room Prayer Team

The Boiler Room Prayer Team meets in the Boiler Room at 9:30am on Sundays to pray through every aspect of Sunday morning and for God’s “kingdom to come and will to be done” in the East Bay.

  • Scripture Reader

The Scripture Reader enunciates the Word of God clearly and with appropriate expression during the worship service.

  • Welcome Team

The Welcome Team creates an inviting environment for newcomers and returning members every Sunday.

  • Communion Crew

Members of the Communion Crew set the table from which the congregation is invited to commune with God, one another, and the visible church around the world.

  • Worship Arts Instrumentalists and Vocalists

Members of this team glorify God through excellent and engaging music, ushering our congregation into God’s presence through singing.

  • Audio/Visual Team

Team members provide the support necessary to operate cameras, online streaming platform, and slides for Sunday worship, making it possible for people around the world to hear the gospel proclaimed.

  • Events Team

The newly-formed Events Team is for people who would like to work alongside Maria Francis to put on church-wide events (e.g., Lessons & Carols reception, Easter coffee hour) or smaller gatherings like lunch for the Belonging Class.
